Plastic parts unit price consist of :
1.material cost;
2.injection cycle time;
3.workers number on machines, cutting gate remains and trimming excessive flushes etc; in auto-produce molds, no workers is required during injection;
4.tonnage of the injection machines;Bigger machines, more cost.
5.surface and other process fee, like painting or silk print;6.Order quantity.
Our suggestions are :
Choose a proper resin, commodity resins like PP/ABS/PE/PC are widely used with good pricing;
Make wall thickness as thin as necessary required, help to reduce cycle time and material volume;
Design for the right injection moulding machines;
Design for auto-production, to reduce human cost;
In most cases, there are several layout options in making molds, especially family molds for a whole product. You might have to choose between a high mold/tooling cost strategy with lower unit prices and a low mold/tooling cost with higher unit prices.
For a new project with uncertainty, it is common to use low_tooling+ high_unit_price strategy;
For a selling-crazy project/duplicate molds, the priority is always on low_unit_price;
